2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Mileage125,950Service Date9/25/2026Services Performed- check for related trouble codes, found p0300 misfire and p0306 #6 misfire codes in history. doubtful theses are directly related to hard start. suspect faulty fuel pump install fuel pressure tester and check fuel pressure. vehicle never failed to start since tester was put on vehicle. – 2nd test drive after vehicle was completed it started hard again. found that after the vehicle was warm and sat it would runs poorly. traced misfire to #6 cylinder. suspect faulty fuel injector. removed fuel injector and inspect. found engine coolant getting into cylinder #6. bad head gasket or possible cracked cylinder head. cylinder heads look recently replaced. remove and inspect. found head gaskets were reused, cylinder head bolts were reused and reinstalled with lock tight. cylinder head face machining was very poor and valve springs were bad. send heads out for rebuild. install cylinder heads with new bolts and gaskets torqued to specifications. test drive multiple times. runs and drive ok. smog monitors did not set. perform smog reset procedure and test drive multiple times again. smog monitors still not set. recommend customer get moving permit and drive for a few weeks to reset system and pass smog. –
- replaced bad valve springs resurface cylinder head faces. -at cost –
- battery test – ok check for tune up needs, spark plugs look ok and have been changed tires are 75% and 2 years old – good front brakes are 25% rear brakes are 75%+
- TRANSMISSION FLUID IS DIRTY AND DIPSTICK IS MISSING
- replace filter, fluid, and pan gasket install new dipstick and also had to replace dipstick tube assemble. set fluid level as per manual
- engine leaking oil front rear of engine from rear main cranks seal. engine also leaking in front area from oil cooler lines –
- ENGINE OIL COOLER HOSE – Remove & Replace – V6, RWD Assembly
- also replace oil pan gaskets and seals. clean mess change engine oil and filter top off fluids set tire pressures reset maintenance indicator change dirty air filter
- UPPER CONTROL ARM BALL JOINTS HAVE PLAY
- CONTROL ARM – Remove & Replace – Upper, Both – [DOES NOT include alignment.]
- REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID DIRTY
- DIFFERENTIAL FLUID – Drain & Refill – Rear Axle – [Includes: R&I Differential Cover.]
- replace and reprogram all 4 tire pressure sensors
- none of the tire sensors read on testing tool. suspect all sensors are wrong or bad.
- LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE BROKEN
- also found internal door mechanism broken. – replace
